Newcastle Music Festival: A Conversation with Orava Quartet
Four men in gray suits with colorful socks sit on a black couch holding string instruments against a plain background.
Newcastle Youth Orchestra invites young string players who are contemplating tertiary/professional careers in music to “A Conversation with Orava Quartet”. The members of the group will talk about their musical journey with youth orchestras, their current program, repertoire and how they approach the interpretation of works.
You will have an opportunity to ask questions about the life of a professional quartet/chamber player. The group will have their instruments and will play some sections for pieces, depending on what is requested. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to talk to some of Australia’s most respected young musicians, the only Australian quartet to be recorded on prestigious international label Deutsche Grammaphon.
Join us in the Conservatorium foyer where morning tea will be served, compliments of Newcastle Youth Orchestra, as part of Newcastle Music Festival.
