Join us for an evening of connection, celebration and community as The Wollotuka Institute welcomes you to its exciting new annual gala event.
In recognition of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), we'll celebrate Indigenous cultures, excellence and self-determination across Australia, the Pacific and beyond.
Enjoy a fantastic evening of great food, entertainment and inspiring company alongside community leaders, partners, staff, students, alumni and friends of Wollotuka.
The evening also celebrates the University of Newcastle's commitment to embedding and advancing The Wollotuka Institute's Cultural Standards, relaunched earlier this year. Our shared framework guides how we learn, work and engage through the foundations of Country, Kinship, Culture and Identity. It shapes how culture guides our practice, decision-making, and ethical engagement, while strengthening our collective commitment to creating a culturally responsive university.
The evening will also feature the inaugural Cultural Standards Awards, recognising individuals and teams who are demonstrating these principles in action. We'll share further details soon.
We look forward to welcoming you for a memorable night of connection and celebration.
