Author of 47 books (and counting) as well as degrees in physics, mathematics, biomedical engineering, medicine and surgery, not to mention 3.7 million likes on TikTok, Dr Karl has devoted much of his career to making science accessible to everyone.

Join us for a live ‘in person’ National Science Week celebration with Dr Karl on Saturday 27 November to explore the wonderful world of science as well as answer any of your curly science questions – it promises to be as much fun as one of Dr Karl’s famed shirts!

Dr Karl will talk about the many types of scientists, including how anyone can be a scientist (even in their own backyard!). Hear about Dr Karl’s own science journey that has taken him from presenting on ABC’s Double J in 1981 to an Ig Nobel prize winner for his ground-breaking research into Belly Button Lint and to being named as a National Living Treasure in 2012.

Dr Karl’s mission is to spread the good word about science and its benefits and his enthusiasm for science is totally infectious. This time-warped National Science Week Celebration presents a wonderful and unique opportunity for science lovers both young and young at heart to learn from one of Australia’s best scientific minds.

Dr Karl Kruszelnicki just loves science to pieces, and has been spreading the word in print, on TV and radio, and online via social media for more than thirty years. The author of 47 books (and counting) Dr Karl is a lifetime student with degrees in physics and mathematics, biomedical engineering and medicine and surgery.

Since 1995, Dr Karl has been the Julius Sumner Miller Fellow at the University of Sydney. In 2019 he was awarded the UNESCO Kalinga Prize for the Popularisation of Science.
