Get to know your fellow new UON students as we take an O Week road trip to Port Stephens! This is an opportunity for you as a new student to see the local area as well as network and meet new people. You will be spending the day with students from all over Australia and the world so come prepared to meet new friends and learn new things about other postgraduate students who are studying at UON.
Visit the Irukandji Shark and Ray Centre for a guided tour of this interactive aquarium, home to over 190 shark, ray and marine species. You can even jump into a wetsuit and get up close and personal in the water with these amazing creatures.
We will then take a 4WD adventure on the largest moving sand dunes in the Southern Hemisphere, travelling from Birubi Beach across the massive sand hills where you can test out your sand boarding skills!
The excursion also includes a brewery tour and lunch of gourmet pizzas at Murray's Brewery.
Tickets for this full day event are limited to 150 seats, so please purchase early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are available to University of Newcastle students only, and patrons must be over 18 yrs of age to purchase.
