Bios
Dr Marie Hadley specialises in intellectual property law, with a focus on copyright law and IP norms. Her work aims to deepen the understanding of the relationship between law and society, especially in the context of disputes over visual imagery. Marie's art law collaborations have produced traditional and non-traditional research outputs including journal articles, digital artwork, songs, curated walks, and exhibitions. "Grey Lines', her installation with tattooist Dr Adam McDade on collaborative authorship, was exhibited as part of the New Annual Arts Festival in 2025.
Dr Gillian Howell is a Senior Research and Engagement Fellow in Music at the University of Newcastle. She is an interdisciplinary researcher, musician, and facilitator whose work explores how music and participatory arts can strengthen social connection, support dialogue, and contribute to social transformation in contexts of conflict, displacement, and social change.
Professor Stephen Loo has worked in the transdisciplinary nexus of architecture, environmental humanities, posthumanist, biological and ethical philosophy, psychophysiology, critical spatial practice, sonic arts and planetary computing for more than 30 years. His work pursues commensalities between biospherical, machinic, social and mental ecologies, and relations between our cultural imagination, instincts and intuition, and the decolonisation of archives and human memory.
Dr Louisa Magrics practice spans creative works, exhibitions, performance collaborations, conference papers, and peer-reviewed publications exploring the relationship between crochet, geometry, rhythm, and spatial systems. Recent outputs investigate topological transformation, nested geometries, sustainable textile fabrication, and embodied spatial practice through projects including Triple Web, Tetrahedron Studies, Threads in Motion, and the Zero Waste Square Tessellation Jacket.
