PVC's Conversations with Thought Leaders - Heads of School Welcome

College of Human and Social Futures Heads of School Kate Nash and James Skinner

The first instalment of the PVC's Conversations with Thought Leaders series for 2023 will take place on Tuesday, May 30 in the Harold Lobb Concert Hall at the University of Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, City Campus.

The College of Human and Social Futures is proud to welcome our two new Heads of School, Professor Kate Nash (School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences) and Professor James Skinner (Newcastle Business School) for an insight into their journey to the University of Newcastle.

The event will feature in-depth, one-on-one conversations hosted by Professor John Fischetti, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Human and Social Futures, with Kate and James, and conclude with an interactive Q&A with in-person and online attendees.

Please join us at the Conservatorium from 5:30pm for light refreshments ahead of a 6:00pm start, with the event concluding at 7:00pm.

Time: 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start

Location: Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, University of Newcastle, Corner Laman Street, Auckland St, Newcastle. Directions to the Newcastle City Campus can be found here.

Parking: Parking can be found on the street (free after 5:00pm) or in the Civic West car park. The Easy Park parking app will help you find and pay for on street parking. The University of Newcastle is committed to a sustainable transport strategy, which promotes active and public transport. The Conservatorium of Music is within walking distance of the Civic Light Rail stop, and buses which run along King St. For individual timetables for public transport services, visit Newcastle Transport.

Accessibility: Newcastle Conservatorium of Music offers accessible seating. This seating is available to patrons who may be wheelchair or mobility aid users, those with low mobility or struggle with stairs, and their companions. Livestream: This event will be livestreamed from 6.00pm on the College website and recorded, with an option for those viewing the livestream to ask questions during the Q&A section. The livestream is free to view and a recording will be kept for reference and posted to the College website.
