Discover, build and explore at STEM Sparks: Igniting Girls Futures in the Built Environment – a family-friendly National Science Week event designed to inspire the next generation of girls in STEM.

Join us for a day of hands-on activities, inspiring conversations and creative challenges that showcase the exciting possibilities within the built environment. Whether you're dropping in for a quick visit or staying to explore it all, there’s something for every curious mind.

What’s On:

  • STEM Story Circles (11.00am) – Informal chats with women working in STEM and design
  • Drop-in Activity Stations – Explore architecture, construction, environmental science and more
  • STEM Mythbusters Challenge – Test common STEM misconceptions
  • Scavenger Hunt – Connect with other CESE Open Day experiences across campus
  • Take-home STEM Sparks Packs – For visiting regional school students
  • “Day in the Life” Video Series – Peek into real careers in the built environment

Part of the University’s 60th anniversary and National Science Week celebrations, this event supports young girls to see themselves in science – and to start imagining their future in STEM.
