Are you a current student at The University of Newcastle? Find out what a security clearance involves, and how you can get one.
Government, industry, and universities face challenges in placing current students and recent graduates into top secret or classified roles due to delays in obtaining the necessary security clearances.
Industry guests will be coming on campus to help ‘demystify’ what’s involved in getting these clearances, the reasoning behind them and what jobs are available for those who are selected to have their clearances fully funded.
Attending on the day will be:
- Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA)
- Department of Defence
- Australian Public Service
Attendees will have an opportunity to take part in an anonymous Q&A, as well as one-on-one conversations with employers to ask questions specific to their own pathway to obtaining a clearance.
This event will also be fully catered with free lunch and drinks, so get in quickly to reserve your place!
This event has been coordinated by the University of Newcastle College of Engineering, Science and Environment, and its School of Information and Physical Sciences.
