Delprat Garden and Cottage Open Days
Delprat Invitation
You are invited to the opening of the Delprat Garden and Cottage!
The Delprat Garden project is collaboration between the School of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Newcastle, Newcastle Industrial Heritage Association, Bosque Landscape Architecture, and UTS PhytoLab scientists.
The garden is an experimental design, environmental and heritage education project. It aims to activate the garden and cottage through educational programmes of public events while serving as a living phytoremediation laboratory. Phytoremediation is a low cost, natural process where plants absorb harmful toxins from the soil. Located at the Delprat Cottage (133A Ingall Street, Mayfield North, NSW) on former BHP land, the garden aims to restore degraded land in a beautiful, expressive and educative manner.
Across the two days there are a number of activities scheduled for young and the young at heart.
