The University of Newcastle, School of Architecture and Built Environment is delighted to invite you to the Built Environment Showcase 2024, themed “Construction Innovations: Housing Availability and Affordability in Regional NSW”.
The showcase will unite industry professionals, local businesses, community groups, academics, and research groups/centres to facilitate discussions to foster collaboration in the construction and manufacturing sectors. It will also highlight the University of Newcastle’s latest research and innovations to address the housing affordability and availability crisis facing our region.
The University of Newcastle acts as the hub for construction housing innovations and skills development in regional NSW. Its strong collaboration with industry assists in the development of strategic and innovative solutions and pathways that require commitment from all levels of government and business to work together in partnership to address the housing gaps.The showcase will be held on Thursday, 14th November 2024 from 5.00pm – 7.30pm at the Architecture Design Studio, Callaghan Campus, University of Newcastle with an opportunity after the showcase to network and meet industry research experts.
The event is being convened and chaired by Professor Temitope Egbelakin, Dr Sarah Breen Lovett and Dr Maggie Tang.
We have a series of guest speakers from across the industry speaking at the event including;

- Brendan Pope - Head of Design and Innovation of Fleetwood Australia
- Craig Earley - Associate Principal of Architectus
