Graduation documents

Your testamur is a legal document confirming you have completed an award at the University of Newcastle and received a qualification.

It will have your legal name - as shown on other official documents, such as a birth certificate or passport – the date your award was officially conferred, the University’s seal, as well as the signatures of the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor.

Your transcript details your:

  • Name

  • The date it was awarded and officially conferred
  • Program of study
  • Term and courses enrolled
  • The unit value of your courses
  • Marks for any courses completed
  • Grades.

The Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement (AHEGS) is an Australian Government initiative designed “to make Australian qualifications recognised and renowned throughout the world”.

AHEGS describes your qualification in a clear and consistent way to potential employers and other higher education institutions, detailing:

  • Your award
  • Awarding institution
  • Your academic achievements
  • Description of the AHEGS

You will receive a digital copy of your AHEGS during Graduation via the My eQuals system.
