Policies and procedures
In May 2024, after a period of consultation with students and staff, the University released its new Prevention and Response to Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Policy and Procedure which are publicly available in the Policy Library at the links below:
- Prevention and Response to Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Policy
- Prevention and Response to Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment Procedure
The new policy and procedure incorporate best practices for prevention, reporting, and supporting victim-survivors, and have been updated to align with the Respect at Work legislative amendment to the Sex Discrimination Act and the Department of Education’s Action Plan Addressing Gender-based Violence in Higher Education.
The policy and procedure will be reviewed regularly. Please address any enquiries to dvca-committees@newcastle.edu.au
