Financial Support

If you are undertaking a career-ready placement in an academic year and experiencing financial hardship, there is support available.

The University is committed to supporting you throughout your studies to ensure you have a positive and beneficial career-ready placement experience. If you are doing it tough financially at any stage during your placement, there are a range of financial services available to support you.

Student Placement Grants

These are available to you if you are required to complete a career-ready placement as part of your degree. These grants are provided to help cover costs directly associated with placements. Students may be granted $300, $500 or $750 and may also include grocery and/or petrol vouchers.

Scholarships

These funds are intended to help you with study related costs including textbook and equipment. The funds may also be used to cover the cost of relocation and/or accommodation (which may pertain to undertaking a career-ready placement).

Other Financial Assistance

Financial Wellbeing provides financial support through a number of schemes including emergency grocery vouchers ($100), Student Hardship Vouchers, Student Hardship Grants, Student Laptop Grants and Student Loans (up to $2000).

Please note

It is important to keep in mind that any expense incurred while completing a career-ready placement is your responsibility.

If you are experiencing financial hardship you are encouraged to reach out to the Financial Wellbeing team who will be able to let you know which of the above financial support services you are eligible to receive.

Note you may be required to submit a short application as part of applying for these scholarships or grants, and funds will be awarded based on the assessment of your application. You are also encouraged to review the Hardship Grands Procedure Policy and Financial Wellbeing website for more detailed information.
