Expectations, Roles, and Responsibilities

Throughout your career-ready placement experience you are responsible for:

  • Complying with the project plan or Student Placement Agreement set forth by yourself, your supervisor and the course coordinator.
  • Acting professionally with reasonable direction of University staff, as well as abiding by The University of Newcastle policies and procedures such, as the Student Professional Experience Policy.
  • Meeting all the requirements associated with your placement activity and program of study. This may include class-based and/or online learning activities and assessment tasks.

The Student Professional Experience Policy also includes expectations that you will:

  • Be given a clear explanation of the expectations and learning outcomes of the professional experience.
  • Comply with standards of professional behaviour, reasonable directions from the host organisation and the University’s Student Conduct Rule, and Code of Conduct at all times.
  • Be adequately supervised while participating in a professional experience.
