Adverse circumstances
Course Coordinators
The University of Newcastle manages all new Adverse Circumstances applications through ServiceNow, providing a single system for students and staff to submit, assess and manage applications.
Students can apply for adverse circumstances for the following:
- Assessment extensions
- Joint Medical Program (JMP) adverse and special circumstances applications
- Rescheduling of in class tests (non formal extensions)
- Exemptions for compulsory attendance
- Rescheduling a formal examination and
- Rescheduling a placement
For course coordinators, ServiceNow provides a centralised process for reviewing and managing Adverse Circumstances applications. You can access the ServiceNow Adverse Circumstance Workspace via this link: Landing Page | Adverse Circumstance Workspace | ServiceNow
Students can access their Adverse Circumstance application through myUni and Canvas as it links students direct to the ServiceNow application form, or alternatively they can access it via the ServiceNow Student Portal.
