The University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health is proud to announce the launch of the Study in Place Program! This program is designed for:
- Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (EENs) in the Tamworth region and surrounds looking to advance their qualifications and transition to Registered Nurse (RN) without the need to relocate.
- Second year nursing students interested in completing the remainder of their studies from Tamworth - perfect for students originally from the region and looking to return, or students who are curious about the rural experience.
Why choose the Study in Place Program?
- Enjoy the flexibility of remote learning with the advantage of continuous mentoring from local academics, access to study centres, and professional guidance throughout the program.
- All simulation learning completed within our state-of-the-art labs at the Tamworth Education Centre.
- Attend interdisciplinary education sessions.
- Connect with fellow nursing students, and other health students completing year-long placements in Tamworth through social mixers and activities planned throughout the year.
- Opportunity for employment at the local hospital or aged care facilities right where you’ll be training.
Making the transition from EN to RN
A local program for local nurses: study locally and gain the qualifications you need to transition into registered nursing.
Our Study in Place addresses a gap in nursing education by providing a flexible and accessible pathway not currently offered within the region. The program will enable ENs in the Tamworth region and surrounds to advance their qualifications and make the transition to RN without the need to relocate.
Gain access to a flexible and adaptable study pathway that accommodates nurses balancing work, family, and financial commitments.
