Biotechnology - Pre-2021

For students who commenced prior to 2021, BTEC3251 is offered as an elective for students who have elective space in their program.

Career-ready placements, also known as Work Integrated Learning (WIL), give students the opportunity to apply their knowledge, develop practical skills, and enhance their employability by gaining real-world experience in a professional setting.

The University primarily sources placements for this course to ensure high-quality, relevant opportunities for students. In some cases, students may explore the possibility of arranging their own placement, but the Course Coordinator must approve this to ensure it meets University guidelines, does not conflict with existing placement arrangements, and is appropriate for the course. All placements require a designated supervisor within the host organisation.

The Career-Ready Placement online portal provides access to job vacancies, application and interview resources, and feedback on draft applications. It also offers:

  • Guidance on navigating the placement process
  • Job search strategies
  • Resume and application reviews through drop-in sessions and appointments
  • Interview preparation services
