Building a safe and respectful community for all
We're committed to providing a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for staff, students and everyone across our campuses, online spaces and wider community.
The University of Newcastle has zero tolerance for gender-based violence, sexual harassment, sexual assault or any behaviour that compromises safety, dignity or wellbeing.
Our University’s response to the National Higher Education Code to Prevent and Respond to Gender-based Violence has been informed by student and staff feedback, the lived experience of victim-survivors, the expertise of our researchers, and is being consolidated into a Whole-of-Organisation Action Plan focused on prevention, education, support, and continuous improvement.
