At the Conservatorium of Music, we are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and accessible environment where all students, teachers and event patrons can enjoy their experience with comfort, dignity, and independence. We recognise that everyone has different access needs and we are continually working to improve the accessibility of the venue, concerts and events.
Accessible Venue Features
The Conservatorium of Music has a range of features designed to improve accessibility, including:
- Step-free access at the main entrance
- Step-free access to the Concert Hall stage
- Ramp access to the Concert Hall
- Accessible seating in the foyer and the front row of the Concert Hall
- Accessible parking spaces located close to the venue entrance managed by City of Newcastle
- Accessible toilet facilities
- Lift access to all public levels
If you require a specific seating arrangement or have mobility requirements, our team will do everything we can to accommodate your needs.
Sensory Considerations
We understand that some guests may benefit from a quieter or more predictable environment. Depending on the event or concert, we may be able to provide information about:
- Noise levels and the use of amplified sound
- Lighting effects, including flashing or strobe lighting
- Quiet spaces or areas for short breaks
- Event schedules to help plan your visit

Facilities
- Water is available on the bar for bottle refills
- First aid is located at the bar and through Campus Security
- Baby change facilities are located at the end of the accessible ramp into the Concert Hall

We welcome requests for reasonable adjustments wherever possible, including assistance with:
