The climate is noted for being one of the best in Australia with average temperatures ranging from 20C - 32C in Summer, and from 8C - 21C in Winter.

Port Macquarie Hospital
Port Macquarie Base Hospital is a major referral hospital for the Hastings Macleay Network. The hospital provides high level care for the population of Port Macquarie-Hastings and Kempsey LGAs, as well as for those of the Greater Taree and Great Lakes LGAs in Hunter New England LHD. With 195 beds, it provides the majority of specialist medical and surgical services for the Network.
The hospital includes specialist wards/units for general medicine, surgery, day surgery, planned and emergency theatre service, coronary care, intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, 24 hour emergency department, oncology, palliative care, rehabilitation, stroke, acute renal dialysis, high dependency and mental health and an extensive range of outpatient clinics.
Allied health services, including occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, physiotherapy, dietetics, radiology, pathology and pharmacy, are an integral part of the organisation and contribute to the high level of patient care.
At Port Macqaurie you will find a coastal township featuring all the beauty of the beach set alongside gorgeous national parks, an array of attractions, and a township offering great restaurants, cafes and shopping.
With outdoor adventures, gorgeous beaches, delicious fresh produce, and beautiful rainforest walks, the Port Macquarie region is teeming with attractions.
The accommodation is a five minute walk from the Port Macquarie Base Hospital. It consists of two blocks including 5 x two bedroom units, each with one bathroom and share living and kitchen areas; a two bedroom unit designed for disabled access and shared living and kitchen areas. Additionally there is an eight bedroom house with three bathrooms and shared living and kitchen area. Lake Innes shopping complex (Coles) is a 10 minute walk from the accommodation.
Students have their own private lockable room (with a unique key). Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, built-in student desk, chair, lamp, fan and wardrobe.
