The School of Architecture and Built Environment has seen many great success stories from its students.

For two years running, our Master of Architecture graduates have been awarded the New South Wales (NSW) Graduate Medal, which is the most prestigious award available to a graduate of architecture in the state. Andrew Hannah-Davies won in 2017 for his project titled 'Beneath the Surface', and in 2016 James Ellis was awarded the medal for his project titled 'The Plant'.

UON Masters graduate Andrew Donaldson was awarded the prestigious 2016 Blacket Prize and Small Project Architecture Award at the AIA 2016 NSW Architecture Awards for his firm’s refurbishment of UON's Watt Space gallery.

Architecture student Samantha Bailey’s design for a striking $2 million multi-arts space, featuring spectacular waterfront vistas, will become a new focal point for arts and culture in Lake Macquarie.

At the 2016 NSW Graduate and Student Architecture Awards, a special High Commendation went to graduate, Cameron White for his Masters project, Tocal Apiary. Cameron also won the opportunity to travel with award-winning architect Rafiq Azam to see the works of legendary architects such as Louis Kahn, Paul Rudolf and Mazharul Islam in Bangladesh.

Also, in 2014 Sacha Parkinson won the NSW Architects Registration Board Architects Medallion for her impressive portfolio of projects completed during her Masters degree at UON.
