Application Procedures and Forms
Applications to the ACEC are made via eForms, found within the Research Information Management Sustem (RIMS). RIMS is a centralised and linked database of all funded research projects and ethically approved protocols. RIMS can be accessed on and off campus using standard University of Newcastle numberplate and password. RIMS will provide research staff with transparent access to research administration information, which will enable improved management of research projects from anywhere, any time.
To make a submission to the ACEC:
- To go to the RIMS support pages (http://www.newcastle.edu.au/research/research-services/rims/ for information on RIMS.
- Use your web browser (Firefox) to log into RIMS (https://rims.newcastle.edu.au/login.asp).
- Open the "My Animal Use" module on the left menu to create a new submission or find an existing protocol to vary.
- Detailed help documentation can be found within RIMS via the built in "Help-Dev" menu option.
- For advice on the type of application to submit, or problems associated with completing the submission please email Kim Hughes.
