Joining a club or society is a great way to make new friends and get involved while you are studying at UoN. There are over 85 clubs on campus with something for everyone including sporting, social, cultural and religious groups. Each club holds regular events and new members are always welcome.

NUSA

NUSA

NUSA facilitates over 40 clubs and societies on the Newcastle campus at Callaghan. These range from degree related groups right through to Latin American dance, Quidditch and College of St. Crispin, a medieval club.

NUPSA

NUPSA supports and represents postgraduate students. They hold a range of meetings and events through the year to connect the postgraduate student community.

UoN Services offers a large variety of student clubs and societies including the Goonion, political clubs, film and philosophy societies, environmental clubs, drama and anime.

NUsport offer a range of sporting clubs ranging from badminton and hockey, to fencing and water polo.

Help to start new clubs and societies

UoN Services offers both affiliation and registration for student clubs on all UoN campuses. Clubs that choose to affiliate receive financial support plus event management, marketing and general support. Clubs affiliated with other bodies (NUSA, NUsport, Campus Central or NUPSA) can choose to register and be included on the UoN Services website. Both registered and affiliated clubs are entitled to discounts on venue and room hire, catering and equipment hire.

NUSA can offer assistance starting new clubs and societies by contacting the Clubs Officer.

NUPSA offer specialised help for postgraduate students to establish new clubs and societies.
