International Excellence Scholarship
The International Excellence Scholarship 2027 has been established to attract high-performing students to study at the University of Newcastle. This scholarship acknowledges applicants with a strong academic background and provides an ongoing incentive for continued academic achievement. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who receive an offer to study in an eligible program and who commence study with the University in 2027.
This version of the scholarship applies to new international students who receive an offer and commence study in 2027 or later.
Benefit
The scholarship is based on a fixed value for each year of study under a standard full-time study load (80 units) apportioned over each course taken.

How to apply
No need to apply - scholarships will be awarded to applicants who receive an offer to study in an eligible program and commence study with the University in Trimester 1, 2027 and beyond.

Excelencia Internacional Scholarship
The ‘Excelencia Internacional’ Scholarship 2027 has been established to attract high-performing students from South and Central America to study at the University of Newcastle.
This scholarship acknowledges applicants with a strong academic background and provides an ongoing incentive for continued academic achievement. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who receive an offer to study in an eligible program and commence study with the University in Trimester 1, 2027 and beyond. A maximum of 25 scholarships will be awarded in 2027.

Accommodation
Scholarship recipients are eligible for guaranteed and fully funded on-campus accommodation for their first semester of study, up to a maximum of 12 weeks duration. Details of the accommodation arrangements will be provided to eligible students prior to their arrival in Australia.
English Language Tuition
Scholarship recipients will be eligible to receive up to 60 hours of English Language tuition, delivered by the University, at no cost. This offer is only available to students who do not meet the English Language requirements for their chosen program of study and require additional English Language tuition to meet the conditions of their offer.
How to apply
To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, you will need to:
- Be an international full fee-paying student.
- Be commencing study in an eligible CRICOS-registered undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at the University.
- Be a citizen of the eligible states and territories noted for this scholarship noted in the Terms and Conditions documents (Appendix 2).
- Be able to meet the financial obligations of a full fee-paying international student specified by the Australian Government. Evidence of this ability must be provided if requested by the university.
- Not be the beneficiary of a separate University scholarship unless prior approval for special dispensation has been obtained from the university.

Vice-Chancellor’s International Academic Merit Scholarship
The Vice-Chancellor’s International Academic Merit Scholarship has been established to attract academically gifted international students to study at the University of Newcastle.
This scholarship acknowledges applicants with a strong academic background and provides an ongoing incentive for continued academic achievement. Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who receive an offer to study in an eligible program and who commence study with the University in Trimester 1, 2027 and beyond.
