Funding partners
Originally founded in 2007, ANFF was one of nine original research infrastructure facilities established under the Commonwealth’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
The NCRIS delivers an Australian network of world-class research infrastructure projects that support high-quality research to drive greater innovation in the Australian research sector and the economy more broadly.
NCRIS Projects, such as ANFF, support strategically important research through which Australian researchers and their international partners can address key national and global challenges.
The National Fabrication Facility Materials Node in Newcastle was made possible by funding from the NSW Government’s Research Attraction & Acceleration Program (RAAP). This program supports continued investment in the state's research and development capability through key national research and research infrastructure, and drives innovation and job growth for the economy.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
