Capacity and Dementia
Capacity and Dementia – Prof Nola Ries 8:06
This microlearning aims to explain the six key point about capacity and dementia. Specifically, it will focus on: (1) the ability to make a decision (2) the legal presumption that people are able to make decisions (3) the need to recognise factors that can affect a person’s capacity (4) the need for people living with dementia to make their own decisions as much as possible (5) the requirement for formal assessment of decision-making capacity (6) substitute decision-making as the last resort.
