Wollotuka Institute
Ourimbah
Our Ourimbah base sits on the lands of the Darkinjung people. Ringed by tall ridges, this place was traditionally known as a meeting and ceremony place, a heritage that Wollotuka hopes to honour today. Our space is amongst Student Amenities, directly opposite the Retail Shop, and backs out on to a purpose made yarning circle and the Ganda Burung food court, meaning “food shelter” in the Darkinjung language.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
