Newcastle Open Day
Saturday 26 August 2023
Newcastle Callaghan Campus
Our Callaghan campus is located 12 kilometres north-west of Newcastle CBD and has various transport links. Public transport regularly services Callaghan campus and you can plan your journey here.
Car
If you’re driving to Open Day, we recommend you turn off University Drive at the main campus entrance (at the roundabout) and follow the Open Day signs for parking. Parking is free on weekends. Carpark P2 or P1 (for accessible parking) will be the best place to park to get your day underway!
Bus
For Open Day, we recommend you hop off at the Mathematics bus stop. Our friendly crew will greet you and direct on where to go from there.
Train
If you’re catching the train, hop off at Warabrook station then jump on our shuttle bus, which will drop you off near the Open Day action!
NUspace shuttle
Our free NUspace shuttle will run regularly throughout Open Day, departing at the bus stop opposite University House on King Street or on Honeysuckle Drive near Q Building. Hop on board and enjoy a short ride to our Callaghan campus!
If you’d like to know more about getting to Callaghan campus as a student during semester time, you can check out all the transport options here.
Newcastle City Campus
Situated in the centre of Newcastle CBD, our City campus is close to transport links.
Public transport
When visiting our City campus for Open Day, public transport is a great option and you can plan your trip by bus, light rail, train or ferry here.
Car
If you’re driving, you’ll find parking in surrounding streets or at Civic West Carpark.
NUspace shuttle
Our free NUspace shuttle will be running regularly on Open Day between NUspace, Q Building and back to Callaghan campus.
Active travel
We encourage active travel and with less than five minutes’ walk between City campus buildings, it’s a great way to see more of the city. On Open Day we will be running regular walking tours from NUspace through our City campus and the CBD precinct so be sure to take a tour!
