Auchmuty Library – Reading Room 4 refurbishments

Monday, 21 November 2022

The University Library is proud to announce the recent refurbishment of Reading Room 4, delivering new collaborative learning spaces catering to our student’s diverse learning needs.

Reading Room 4 with new group study spaces

This refurbishment is another example of our strategic commitment to continue ‘Reimagining our places and spaces’. With a focus on bringing students together, we have designed and created a space for collaboration, project work and for ideation.  A range of new furniture options provides semi-enclosed booths, large study tables and bookable rooms with a colour scheme of bright, autumnal tones creating a vibrant and lively space, inspiring conversation, cooperation, and chatter!

In addition, two new content-creation spaces provide a place for students to create videos and podcasts, with library staff and peer mentors on hand to help.

Check out your new study space!

  • Over 200 study spaces for all study needs
  • 90%+ spaces have power connected to charge your laptops and phones
  • Nine bookable group rooms with presentation and Zoom technology
  • Two new media rooms: One additional green-screen room and a new podcasting studio

The room has been well received by students, with many students commenting on how much they love the new space:

“Love the amount of new group study spaces, especially the bookable ones. Nice work library team!”

“Love the collaborative spaces!”
