UON Central Coast Celebrates 25 Years

From just 89 students when its doors first opened in 1989, UON's Central Coast campus now has grown to 4,500 students studying a diverse range of degrees in a world-class institution.

UON Vice-Chancellor Professor Caroline McMillen said the region's aspiration to provide first-rate education on the Central Coast had been realised and the 25 year celebration highlighted this tremendous achievement.

"With world-class researchers, award-winning teachers and unique degrees that are exclusive to UON Central Coast campus, the local campus has provided its community with the opportunity to participate in higher education."

"UON is committed to everyone with talent and ability having the opportunity to access a world-class education. The UON Central Coast campus has increased local participation in higher education with more than 11,600 graduates since 1995," said Professor McMillen said.

The celebration also marks the strong partnerships UON Central Coast campus has established in the region with local industry, business and community to drive leading education, innovation and research.

"UON is very proud to celebrate a quarter of a century of strong local engagement in the region. These partnerships have delivered contemporary studies and work-ready graduates who continue to be competitive on the national and international stage," Professor McMillen said.

UON Central Coast campus attracts local, interstate and international students and provides a diverse range of degrees including exclusive programs in the fields of oral health, podiatry, exercise and sport science, food sciences and human nutrition.
