Introducing Canvas, Your New Online Learning Management System
Blackboard is changing - a new learning management system is coming!
From January 2022, Blackboard will be replaced with a new learning management system called Canvas. All your learning material, course content, announcements and more will move to Canvas from after you complete Semester 2 or Trimester 3 studies this year.
Why is it changing?
The University is introducing Canvas to give you better learning experience; it will provide a more consistent experience across all your courses and has a great user-friendly and intuitive interface.
When will it change?
Semester 2 and Trimester 3 2021 are the last terms to be taught in Blackboard.
For students enrolling in any term from Summer Term 1 (commencing 22 November 2021), courses will be hosted in Canvas. Semester 1 and Trimester 1 2022 will be in Canvas.
What do I have to do?
If you have any course material, including notes, assignments you have submitted or other material from your past courses that you wish to keep, you should download them and save them now. Your personal content (assessments etc) will not be retained in Blackboard after this year.
Before you start studying in Canvas, we will send you through instructions on how to access it and how to use it. Keep an eye on your student email for more information before your next term starts.
