Professor Susan Ledger, Dean of Education and Head of School, and the dedicated School of Education staff at the University of Newcastle, are extremely proud to be celebrating 75 years of leading innovative teacher education programs for schools within the region.

The experience of a lifetime awaited 27 Scholars from the Ma & Morley Scholarship Program who travelled to China for a 12-day cultural immersion earlier this year to broaden their global awareness, connect with other cultures and gain insight into life in China.

In February 2024, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) published, for the first time, the gender pay gaps of almost 5,000 employers. At a recent event, members of the HunterWiSE Network explored the factors that contribute to the gender pay gap, and actions that are being taken to close the divide.

From outdoor gyms to the loungeroom, a new fitness app, designed by University of Newcastle researchers, makes strength-based workouts accessible to Hunter residents aged 18 to 80 and beyond.
