In June a delegation from Nihon University’s Faculty of Law visited Newcastle. Key objectives of the visit were to inspect the new Nihon University Campus, particularly the refurbished and heritage listed Court House building  and to meet with the University’s School of Law and Justice.

Nihon University in Tokyo, and the University of Newcastle signed an agreement on 1 February 2024 to support operations of the new Nihon University Campus located at the former Newcastle Court House in Church Street, Newcastle East when it opens in August this year.

In May this year the University in conjunction with South Korea’s Pusan National University presented an overview of the last 15 years of collaboration between our two universities at the Korea-Australia Higher Education Forum in Seoul.

The University of Newcastle has been announced an inaugural member of an Australian first, national, cross-university network that will advocate for, and advance digital health, through collaboration and evidence-based research.

The Partnership Seed Fund launched in 2023 between the University of Newcastle and the University of Waikato supports international collaboration for innovative research, knowledge sharing and expertise to deliver positive change and build capability.
