Nihon Faculty of Law Visit Newcastle
In June a delegation from Nihon University’s Faculty of Law visited Newcastle. Key objectives of the visit were to inspect the new Nihon University Campus, particularly the refurbished and heritage listed Court House building and to meet with the University’s School of Law and Justice.
    
    The visit by Nihon School of Law is the first of a number visits by Nihon University Faculties to see their new offshore campus and begin to plan on how they might utilise their new facility and develop international experiences and engagement for their students.
Dean University of Newcastle’s School of Law and Justice Belinda Bennett and Professor John Anderson met with the Nihon University delegation. The refurbished Court House offering such an impressive and unique teaching environment, particularly the opportunity for moot court and mock trail practice, was a significant focus of the discussion. Dean Oda, a keen surfer in his youth and was also more than mildly interested to learn more about the University’s Law on the Beach program.
On the 22nd August Nihon University will hold an official opening ceremony for their new campus and a number of Nihon University Deans or Faculty representatives will make the journey for the occasion. A joint Dean’s meet and greet session is being planned for 23rd August that offer the chance to establish relationships and explore possibilities right across the university.
