Dr Alexandre Mendes has been awarded the Work Integrated Learning Staff Member of the Year in recognition of his efforts in creating innovative change within the Computer Science and Information Technology Work Integrated Learning course structure, generating meaningful work experience opportunities for an increased number of students and equipping them with skills required for the workplace.

Students given the creative lead to reimagine uni campuses
The University of Newcastle has today announced the winning team and installation in its recently completed Design-a-Place Marker competition. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alex Zelinsky AO, joined the winners and competition convenors to reveal the design of the new Callaghan campus place marker, which will be installed at Callaghan and Ourimbah campuses.

These rankings aim to provide an overview of the best places in the world to study a chosen discipline. A record 1,512 institutions are ranked in the 2021 Subject Rankings across the 11 subject areas, with 522 newly ranked this year.
