Unisounds 2018
Can UON conquer the contest for the second year running?
Unisounds (formerly the National Campus Band Competition) is one of Australia's longest running talent discovery events that's given artists to your ears like Jebediah, Augie March, Eskimo Joe and Dappled Cities.
Unisounds is back for 2018, accepting entries from bands of all sizes including, for the first time, electronic music producers.
This year's winner will secure an international record release through Dine Alone Records and Universal Records, plus paid gig opportunities and industry mentoring.
In 2017, 3 of the 6 finalists were from UON.
UON's own Jones the Cat took out Unisounds 2017 winning over $100K worth of prizes, including an international record release.
Bravo Victor and dave were also finalists scoring highly coveted industry mentorships.
Can UON artists fill the finalists board again and take the top spot?
Jack Waterson from Jones the Cat had this to say:
"The experience was, and really continues to be, a pretty wild ride. It’s been really nice to have years of collective hard work pay off in a measurable sort of a way. Musical pursuits don’t often provide stuff like that. We’re now trying to use it as a stepping stone on to bigger and better things as you’d imagine so the whole thing feels a lot more like a starters pistol than a finish line."
Is your act ready to step up?
