SMART starts 2018 with Little Bang Discovery Club
The SMART program started 2018 off with a series of exciting school holiday science sessions. At Rutherford, Salamander Bay and Raymond Terrace libraries, junior scientists got hands on at Little Bang Discovery Club sessions. Children honed their skills in measuring, categorising and hypothesising to explore scientific principles like fluid dynamics and the physics of sound, vibration and magnets!

Pioneering respiratory researcher awarded TSANZ Fellowship

$1.96 million to personalise cancer treatment and change patient lives
University of Newcastle’s (UON) Professor Jennifer Martin has received $1.96 million in Cancer Council NSW research funding to develop a personalised chemotherapy dosing system for cancer patients to improve quality of life, reduce side effects and increase chance of survival.

Procurement Open Day 2018
Strategic Procurement held its annual Open Day held on Tuesday 13 February 2018. The day was supported by 17 of the University’s key suppliers with over 200 staff members from a number of the University’s campuses, including our Orange campus in attendance.
