Three UON staff have had their commitment to researchers recognised by the Australasian Research Management Society (ARMS).

A  new  exhibition  opening  at The  Lock­Up  explores  the  ways  contemporary Aboriginal  and  Torres  Strait  Islander artists  are  responding  to  the  resurgence in  traditional  practices  and  their  place within  the  contemporary  cultural  context.

In an acknowledgment of UoN’s research leadership in the field of early modern women’s writing, the Early Modern Women Research Network (EMWRN) has been asked to share their digital archive software with leading Renaissance literature academics at Northwestern University, USA.

The Centre for 21st Century Humanities has kicked off a program to nurture early career researchers (ECR’s). Five ECRs have been selected to participate in the program that will see them mentored by senior academics and up-skilled in the growing area of digital humanities.

In a significant acknowledgement of outstanding career achievements and impact, the University of Newcastle (UON) has named Professor Jennifer Gore its first female Laureate Professor.
