Study to enhance counselling for cancer callers
University of Newcastle behavioural scientist Professor Christine Paul will work with Cancer Council NSW, Cancer Council Victoria and HMRI to help ensure that distressed cancer patients and their families receive the best possible health counselling when they phone for support.

Investing in something meaningful
Professor Billie Bonevski is a health behaviour scientist at UON, dedicated to improving health in the community. Billie’s research looks at why people engage in unhealthy behaviours, like smoking, drinking too much alcohol, not being physically active or eating unhealthily, and uses that information to design programs and advise the Government and other health organisations, on policies to empower people to be healthier.

Preschool on campus gets first taste of Little Scientists
KU Kintaiba pre-schoolers at the University of Newcastle are the first in the region to have been given a taste of The Little Scientists initiative through the university's own SMART Program.
