The 2016 Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence recognised more than 70 remarkable academic and professional staff in every faculty and division, for their willingness to change the status quo, take on new challenges and provide inspirational leadership.

2016 has been a great year for UON research. UON researchers performed strongly in both the 2017 National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) and Australian Research Council (ARC) major grants rounds. This is despite strong competition for grants in a difficult funding environment.

Five UON health researchers have been awarded highly competitive Heart Foundation Australia funding to investigate the causes, treatment and prevention of heart, stroke and blood vessel disease.
