Architecture Exhibition
A jail above Kotara Westfield, a lunar research facility located on the moon, and an urban farm that occupies the rail corridor in Newcastle are just a few of the architectural designs developed by University of Newcastle final year Master of Architecture students, on display at the Christ Church Cathedral in Newcastle and Pier 2/3 in Walsh Bay, Sydney later this month.

UoN Scholar’s Book Documents Australia’s Historical Attitudes to Nuclear Weapons
A University of Newcastle scholar has collaborated with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to deliver a new book that draws on unpublished records from the National Archives of Australia to document the negotiation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty from an Australian perspective.

$8.8M ARC funding
The Australian Research Council (ARC) has today awarded $8.8 million in Discovery Project research funding to the University of Newcastle. The funding will extend across 19 projects, an increase of 6 projects and $4.2 million since last year.

HMRI 2013 Awards Night
Respiratory researcher Professor Phil Hansbro won the prestigious 2013 Award for Research Excellence tonight as more than $1.4 million in grant funding was awarded and acknowledged in the Hunter Medical Research Institute's 2013 Awards Night.
