Frequently Asked Questions

Startup memberships are applicable to pre-startups, startups, and scale-ups (including social enterprises and not-for-profits). Members can include the founders of the business and/or their staff on ongoing or fixed-term appointments.

A pre-startup is defined as a business that is setting up and is in the process of developing a product (good or service), is not part of an enterprise group, and is searching for a repeatable, scalable, and innovative business model or product.

A startup is defined as a company or trust that is not part of an enterprise group and is searching for a repeatable, scalable, and innovative business model or product.

A scaleup is defined as a valuable former startup company or trust that is not part of an enterprise group, has found a repeatable, scalable and innovative business model or product, and is expanding rapidly.

Corporate memberships are for other businesses (including consultants) and are considered on a case-by-case basis and depending on the availability of office/desk space.

If you are unsure please email i2n@newcastle.edu.au to determine which membership is for you.

If you are working for a pre-startup, startup, or scaleup on a contract basis, or you are making the transition to your own pre-startup/startup then you are eligible to make an application for membership. As a rule of thumb, if you’re spending more than half your working time on your pre-startup/startup then you’ll benefit as a member of the I2N Incubator community.

You can book a tour and get a feel for I2N Hub Honeysuckle and the community. Contact i2n@newcastle.edu.au to book a time to suit. If you have made up your mind and want to start as soon as possible you can sign up for membership.

The initial term of Office memberships is 6-months and for desk memberships (Full-time, Connect, and Hot Desk) is 3-months, billed monthly.

After the initial term, your membership will automatically renew on a monthly basis unless you cancel your membership with 20 business days' notice required. Take a look at the Terms and Conditions for all the details.

I2N Hub Honeysuckle offers free coworking at the Innovation Common (ground floor) which can be accessed Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM. See the Innovation Concierge desk at the entrance for more details.

Be sure to introduce yourself to the I2N Slack Community and engage with 500+ people in the ecosystem.

Our monthly newsletter is a great way to keep your finger on the pulse and keep up with upcoming I2N events and programs as well as those from our ecosystem partners.
