Clubs and societies
University is about so much more than lectures, assignments and getting a degree. It is also a time to create lasting friendships and life-long memories!
Joining a Student Club or Society
With over 100 registered clubs and societies, there’s bound to be a group of like-minded people for you to meet and bond with. It's never too late to join a club (or ten); we'd love for you to get in touch with the clubs that interest you, check out their events and become a member or executive of their community!
Starting a Student Club or Society
Or, if you don’t see a club that sparks your interest, you can always start a new club and be supported by (and find more info at) the University of Newcastle Students’ Association (UNSA), or NUsport (Sporting Clubs).
Clubs and societies can be affiliated with either UNSA or NuSport (if you are a sporting specific club, you can be affiliated with both). UNSA or NUsport will help guide you through the process from your first IGM, to affiliation and running your own events to grow your community of like-minded people.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
