Description
Students will learn knowledge and skills to identify, assess and control a range of workplace risk hazards using evidence to support the risk management process. Students will be able to apply and understand the relevant guidelines, standards, legislation to the risk management process and have an understanding of emergency risk management.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of the course students will be able to:
1. Identify risk hazards associated with work-systems
2. Evaluate and assess risk hazards in the workplace
3. Analyse and provide evidence for appropriate control measures of risk hazards in the workplace
4. Investigate and apply relevant guidelines, standards and legislation to the risk management process
5. Outline emergency risk management processes in Australia
Content
Modules to be covered include:
- Identification, assessment, control and risk management in specific topic areas, ergonomics, psychosocial, chemical, plant and machinery, gravitational hazards and other contemporary risks associated with the workplace
- Relevant guidelines/standards/legislation for risk management
- Emergency risk management in Australia.
