Description
In this capstone course, students will put into practice the learning from earlier courses. They will undertake a translation project, under individual academic supervision. Students will select the text, based on their professional interest and/or professional context (e.g. literary, journalistic or technical translation, translation project for external organisation). The project will comprise the translation of a previously untranslated work (approximately 10,000 words) from another language into English, or from English into another language, with accompanying commentary. The choice of supervisor will depend on the other language involved. Current expertise includes French, Japanese, Chinese, German, Scandinavian languages, Latin, and Ancient Greek.
