The college-based Newcastle Academy of Health Professional Development is the platform for innovative short courses that meet areas of need for health professional development. The development and delivery of these courses are a collaboration between the College and our external clinical partners.
Created in 2023 through the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing, the Newcastle Academy of Health Professional Development (NAHPD) operates as a platform to deliver innovative post graduate short courses that meet areas of need for health professional development.
Utilising the University's learning management system, CANVAS, as a platform, the development and delivery of postgraduate micro credential short courses for health professionals will be managed. These micro-credentials are designed to be stackable and flexible due to the number of areas of unmet need in professional development in many health professions.
Each course acts as a stand-alone micro-credential that has the ability to stack into a 10-unit professional certificate.

The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
