Hard copy
STEP 1 Select the program for which you wish to apply.
STEP 2 Download, print and complete the appropriate application form.

STEP 3 Make sure you attach the necessary documentation.
STEP 4 Send the form to the International Admissions Officer at The University of Newcastle or to a representative office in your home country.
Please note that the University will accept only original or certified documents.
Copies must be certified by either an authorised officer of the official records department of the institution that originally issued the document, or by an authorised officer of an Australian overseas diplomatic mission.
If qualifications were obtained under a former name, please attach your present name to the documents. Certified translations must accompany documents that are not in English.
Evidence of graduate status should indicate that the academic requirements of the course have been completed or that the award has been conferred.
You must also comply with the level of English proficiency for the program you are applying for.
Then what happens?
Once the university has received your application and lodged it on the University of Newcastle student system you will receive by email a username and password.
You will be able to monitor the progress of your application online.
If your application is successful, we will send you a letter offering a place. The letter will also outline the course, any additional conditions you must meet, fees payable, and your course commencement date.
If your application is unsuccessful, we will send you a letter explaining why.
If you need to apply for a preliminary visa you should take the offer letter with you.

The University of Newcastle is bound by the Privacy and Personal Information Act, 1998 and the Health Records Act 2002 and has a privacy management plan. Please be advised that the University will not release a student’s personal details, including academic information, to any agent, whether they are acting alone or on behalf of a family member, without the prior written consent of the student concerned.
