World flags

The University continues to build its global footprint with partnerships and opportunities that span the globe through research collaborations, teaching collaborations, credit arrangements, articulation arrangements, pathway agreements, and study abroad and exchange programs.

We acknowledge the need to develop appropriate strategies to engage and build sustainable international partnerships which deliver tangible outcomes in the areas of education, research and innovation.

Nobby's headlandThe economy of Newcastle, one of Australia's earliest settlements, was founded on coal, steel, manufacturing and the role of Newcastle Harbour as a major port. During the past decade, this economic base has been recast with an increased focus on education, research and innovation. The city is emerging as a Univer-city and a global knowledge hub, positioned to drive world-class innovation to address the challenges and opportunities of our time.  Our partners  also benefit from gaining access to cutting-edge research and first-class facilities located in the beautiful coastal city of Newcastle, Australia's 8th largest city – a short drive to the Hunter Wine Region and under two hours' drive to Sydney.
