Research Consumables Store

The Faculty of Health Research Consumables Store (RC Store) aims to provide an extensive range of stocked and special order laboratory consumables, at the lowest possible price, to support and promote research at the University of Newcastle. We offer an economical, efficient, and convenient service to all University research, clinical, and teaching facilities.

The RC Store's catalogue includes basic laboratory necessities such as glassware, personal protective equipment, simple chemicals and plasticware through to specialised items such as molecular biology and tissue culture reagents. In a number of product categories, multiple brands and qualities of the same product type are available.

By providing laboratory consumables at the lowest possible price we aim to save your valuable research time and make ordering as simple as possible. The RC Store is able to negotiate better pricing than that available to individuals and often avoids the additional burdens of transaction fees and freight charges.

Who Can Use the RC Store

The RC Store's services are available to all University and affiliate staff. While our product range tailors mainly to the research and clinics conducted in the Faculty of Health, all University staff or students with access to a University cost collector or associated entities with a University debtor code, are welcome to purchase through the Store.

Our Main Facility is located on level 2 of the Medical Sciences Building (MS 224 - adjacent to the loading dock) and we welcome customers to come and browse through our range.

How to Order from the RC Store

We aim to make ordering from the RC Store simple and trouble-free. To order through the RC Store all you need to do is complete an RC Store Order Form and email it to us at health-stores@newcastle.edu.au .

Trash to Treasure

The RC Store sponsors a recycling program in conjunction with the Faculty of Education and Arts. We take donations of unwanted/out-dated laboratory goods to the Sculpture Sheds for students and staff to transform into wonderful creations. If you have any items that you would like to donate please contact us at health-stores@newcastle.edu.au to arrange pickup. We ask only that any donations are clean of contamination before you give them to us.
