Coming from overseas?
We search globally to get the right person for the job.

By joining us at the University of Newcastle, you too can live and work in the best place on Earth. We are a modern and growing region that is forging a bright new future. You get the best of Australian life but with the added benefit of a unique mix of space and everything on your doorstep.
To help you we provide a range of services to assist in immigration and relocation to Australia.
Immigration
We are an approved employer sponsor who can nominate overseas applicants for Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) and Permanent Residency visa (subclass 186).
Depending on the classification level of the appointment, we engage the services of an Immigration Lawyer to assist with the employer nomination and/or application process.
Visa conditions and obligations are subject to change, please see the Department of Home Affairs Immigration and citizenship website for up to date information.
Relocation
We understand that attending an interview can be costly if you are not from the area. In most cases, we will meet travel and accommodation costs incurred as part of the interview process for senior professional and academic staff. We will also contribute to relocation costs.
The University can organise quotes from removal companies and guide you through this process. We also have access to relocation specialists who can assist with advice on housing, schools and tours of the region.
